WLtoys has gone ahead to announce its latest set of drones from the V393 family. It consists of four models — the WLtoys V393A, V393B, V393C and the V393E (A,B,C,E suffixes… don’t know why they skipped D).
All of the four drones are meant for aerial filming. While the V393A (this one’s also got FPV), V393B and the V393C offer on-board cameras, the V393E comes with a 2 axis brushless gimbal so you can mount your own 3rd party action camera. The drones come with rather high capacity 2700mAh batteries, rated at 11.1V which take a little over three hours to charge, returning a flight time of about 13 minutes.
As mentioned before, the V393A comes with 5.8GHz FPV transmission (via a 720p video-capable camera), whereas the V393B offers a 1080p 5 mega-pixel camera (that can also record in 720p). The V393C uses the same 5 mega-pixel camera, but with a self adjusting mechanism to keep subject in the frame at all times.
Last but no the least, the V393E offers no on-board camera, but a 2 axis gimbal instead… which can be used with action cameras such as GoPro, Xiaomi Yi Camera, etc.
KNOWLEDGE BASE: What is headless mode?
The complete V393 family of drones comes with the headless mode, which is a cool addition to a drone, but I don’t think it is something that aerial filming enthusiasts worry about too much.
