Syma X8C on discounted sale for a limited time

Syma recently gave the ever-so-popular X5C an update in the form of the X8C. Generally, the quadcopter drone can be found for over $100, but I’ve managed to work out a deal exclusively for RC Drone Arena readers.

The Syma X8C can be had for just $72.99 shipped via reseller CooliCool. The X8C has a 2 mega-pixel camera, a 7.4v 2000mAh battery which takes around 3 hours to charge. Once done, the X8C returns about 7 minutes of flight time.

The X8C has the usual functions — flips, headless mode, and more, which should be fun if you’re just looking to take the X8C out for some leisure flights.

Update: The exclusive has ended, but you can still buy the quadcopter from the following stores that are actually more trusted than the one posted earlier.

You can get the Syma X8C via BanggoodGearbest, Tmart, and Geekbuying.

  • 3 hours to charge for only 7 minutes of flight time? You must have copy pasta something here by accident, that does not sound right for 2000 mah battery.

If it is true, I fail to see how this is any sort of upgrade over the superior x5c1, which is the best entry level quad on the market.

    • Nothing’s copy-pasted. To be honest, I was surprised too to see just 7min mentioned. I’ll try and get a word from the makers on this.

    • Certainly doesn’t sound right, but there’s no copy paste here. That’s the info I was provided. I’ll however try and recheck if there’s a discrepancy.

We have discussed this at length on RC Groups . com – takes about an hour to an hour and a half to charge. The charger required for 2 cell 7.4v lipo provides a slow charge for complete charging. Now, leave off the prop guards to reduce weight and you can get up to 12 minutes, 10 with them on.

So far, I got the sale price with the coupon code provided but as I proceed to check out, and despite the words “Free shipping from China” on the product page and the shopping cart page, Coolicool tries to tack on a $31.17 shipping charge. I have an email into their customer service asking what is up with that. I will keep you all posted

    • Keep posted. Meanwhile I’ll try to get a word from them on this. Cheers.

Here is the reply from their customer service overnight:

Hi,thanks for your email and we are free shipping for the
smartphone and the tablets, but not for the copters. because we can’t send that
through the Netherlands post office, we have to use EMS or the DHL to send.

        • It’s a shame that shipping is extra. But I think it makes sense also, you don’t want your quadcopter packet beaten up (global post isn’t best known for handling).

They had also upped the pricing by quite a margin, but I talked them into bringing it down to $110 (-$10 from coupon). Not an amazing price as earlier, but still not too bad.
