The holiday season is around the corner, which means its the right time you start looking for gifts for yourself and for the people you love. Shipping from China usually takes a little longer than when its done domestically, i.e., from your own country, but buying from China means that you also get the best deal possible. Here we’ll discuss the five best camera drones under $50!
Note: The article has been updated for November 2016.
Drones are things that fascinate one and all — quite literally. Be it an 8 year old or his grandpa, everyone wants to fly, and later, own a drone. While most drones can be costly affairs (given that pilots with no prior experience are bound to crash), it usually makes sense to start with something that’s easier to forget when broken.
Which is why we will be listing the top 5 drones with camera UNDER $50 for the month of September 2016 here. So go ahead, compare what’s listed, and save a buck!
Top 5 Camera Drones $50 — November 2016
Here is the list of the best camera drones under $50 if you don’t want to read through the descriptions:

1. Cheerson CX-10C: 0.3MP camera, $19.59
Chances are that you’ve already read a lot about the Cheerson CX-10 (or maybe even owned one; read our Cheerson CX-10C review for more info). The CX-10 series has been a cult quadcopter of sorts, one that made the ‘quadcopter for everyone’ dream possible. For the longest time, it also remained to be the smallest commercially available quadcopter drone in the world.
Cheerson gave the CX-10 an upgrade in 2015, and it is now known as the Cheerson CX-10C (‘C’ for camera). In fact, it is still the world’s smallest commercially available camera quadcopter!
It comes with a 0.3 mega-pixel/VGA camera which actually takes decent video and pictures. The quadcopter drone is the cheapest of them all at a lowest price of just $19.59 shipped to your home!
Here’s a video showing how well the camera performs:
2. Syma X5C / X5SC: 2MP camera, $41.99
Syma quadcopter drones are regarded as some of the safest bets for beginner to intermediate pilots. The X5C (and later, the X5SC) have served a great purpose of allowing buyers to avail budget camera drones under $100… but with time, competition has come up and prices have gone down.
Which means that something as efficient as the Syma X5SC can be yours for as low as $41.99 with free international shipping, which to me looks like a great deal. If this is going to be your second quadcopter, you’re going on the right path!
3. JJRC H98: VGA camera, $25
The JJRC H98 is a (excuse me for the slang) dirt cheap drone. It isn’t just great looking (as you’ll have seen in our hands on with the JJRC H98), it is also one of the few camera drones that isn’t smaller than your palm, has a camera, and costs under $30!
Like the Syma X5C, the JJRC H98 too has been in the market for a while now… which means it is now a lot more affordable than it was a few months back. It also has a great community going for it, with RC Drone Arena readers, and other drone enthusiast taking a great interest in this affordable quadcopter drone!
4. Syma X5HW: VGA camera, $44
As you’d have guessed, the Syma X5HW is Syma’s 2016 entry into the mini quadcopter market. Just like previous years, Syma has absolutely killed it; the X5HW is usually a blind choice for beginners and intermediates with a budget of and around $50.
What’s more, it also comes with FPV (powered by WiFi), which means you get even more ‘bang for your buck’, and view your drone’s realtime feed on your smartphone!
5. Hubsan X4 H107C: VGA camera, $35
The Hubsan X4 H107C is another quadcopter that’s an absolute legend in its own right. It’s been around for a fair while, but despite that, continues to sell in huge numbers, especially amongst first time camera drone buyers.
The Hubsan X4 H107C is the camera supported version of the epic X4 quadcopter, which is perhaps still the most popular micro quadcopter drone around!
So, the $35 investment you make for the X4 H107C is bound to pay dividends for months to come!

The drones listed above are arguably the best drones with camera you can get of under $50 anywhere in the world. I’ve also only listed the stores I’ve dealt with and would personally recommend to my people, so that’s sorted as well. (In hindsight, I’m thinking of writing up a post discussing the best stores to purchase drones. What do you think about the idea?)
There’s a couple other drones that deserve a mention here — most notably, the Bayangtoys X8 and the Syma X25 ‘carquadcopter’ — but couldn’t make it to the list… after all, it’s a top 5 RC Drone Arena list!
I guess that’s it with this post. There’ll be more such posts coming your way in the coming days, so make sure you’re subscribed to the RC Drone Arena newsletter (there’s a box right at the end of this post).
