More reliable than the conventional motor, the BLDC motor is comparatively more efficient and has a longer life, besides being way more powerful.

The brushless motor has found it’s way to the drone industry, with some of the best quadcopters incorporating brushless motor over the conventional DC motor.

1. Aosenma CG035

The Aosenma CG035 is only a recent release, but thanks to the price : feature ratio that it boasts, its suddenly finding itself amid a lot of attention. Two key features that set the Aosenma CG035 apart are — brushless motors (of course!) and the addition of the very popular follow me mode.

The factory have managed to hit a sweet spot with the pricing as well, with the Aosenma CG035 shipping worldwide for well under $200 ($175-ish while publishing this post!).

2. ROA Parkour 280 Racer

The Racer 280 is a modular drone with foldable arms. Retailing at $105, it has a full carbon fibre frame. It comes with a Sony CCD FPV camera, which can be detached to allow installation of a GoPro.

Powered by a 11.1V 2200 mAh Battery, it has a flight time of about 15 minutes. It weighs a mere 580g owing to its light weight carbon fibre frame.

3. Bayangtoys X16

The Bayangtoys X16 is a drone with a 2 mega-pixel HD FPV camera. Powered by a 11.1V 2200mAh Lipo battery, it has a flight time of about 12-16 minutes on a 210-260 minute charge.

4. Eachine Falcon 180

The Falcon 180 is one of the few drones on this list that exceed the $150 bracket. It is powered by a 3S 11.1V 1500mAh 35C Battery and hosts a 700TVL FPV camera. It retails for $172.

As you’ll have seen from the video above, the Falcon 180 is a seriously fast drone and is not meant for beginners.

5. Walkera Hoten X Quadcopter

Retailing at $175, the Walkera Hoten X is a steal. Powered by a 7.4V 1000mAh Li-Po battery, it has a flight time of 7-10 minutes.

It has 6 axis gyro with a control distance of about 100 meters. The copter has a robust build with LED lights in front and back, making it easier to spot at night time. Definitely a good choice if you want a simple drone.

6. JJRC X1

Powered by a 7.4V 1300mAh battery, the X1 is one of the few drones on this list that have a flight time of more than 10 minutes. It also has a control distance of more than 200 meters. It features both headless mode and one key return.

It weighs around 1.18 kg and retails at $129.

7. XK X251

Priced at a mere $109.99 here the X251 is a product from one of the lesser known brands — XK. It is powered by a 7.4V 950mAh lipo battery with a flight time of about 12 minutes on a charge time of 10-12 minutes.

We’ve been testing one for the past few days, and so far it has exceeded expectations in almost every department!

It has a 6 axis gyro and a control distance of 300 meters. It weighs a mere 205g.

8. Eachine Racer 250

Powered by a 11.1V 1500mAh 25C 3S LiPo battery, the Eachine Racer 250 has a flight time of around 10-14 minutes. It also houses an FPV camera for stills and video. The deign of the copter is very user friendly. It weighs around 400g without the battery and retails at $159.

9. Eachine Assassin 180

The Assassin 180 is the 9th drone on this list, and it does not disappoint. It comes with a price tag of $169 shipped worldwide. It is powered by a 3S 1000 mAh smart battery.

The best part about this drone is the in built GPS which allows it to hold its position a lot better other drones. It has a 520 TVL camera (again with a very powerful 600mW transmitter) that transmits video in real time.

10. HiSky HMX 280

The HMX 280 is a very well built and good looking quadcopter. It does look like Toothless from How to train your dragon! It is powered by a 11.1V 1350mAh battery and has a flight time of about 7 minutes.

It has a 5 channel 2.4 GHz transmitter and a control distance of more than 300m. It has the provision for attaching a gimbal mount. Retailing at $166, the HMX 280 weighs around 420 grams.

Best Cheap Brushless Drones – Conclusion!

Some of the drones mentioned here have turned out to be absolute favourites, including the XK X251. Despite being fairly new on the market, the XK X251 is hugely popular both, due to its affordability and flying characteristics.
