The Daming DM007 aka NightHawk or the Spy Drone (phew that’s quite a few names for one quadcopter) is perhaps the most popular affordable camera drone right now. Makers of the quadcopter drone probably realize that, and have announced a new variant of the same.

DM007W is what the makers are calling the new version. It now comes with WiFi FPV, which according to me is the sole differentiating factor (besides headless mode of course) between the original DM007 and this.

Naturally, the DM007W is priced higher than the regular version. It is currently priced at $69 compared to the $45 of the non-WiFi FPV version.

It looks as though the the DM007W can also be controlled via a smartphone. That’s at least what the press renders indicate, more info should be available around the DM007W when the quadcopter drone comes in stock.

The original DM007 comes in a few versions — no camera, 0.3 mega-pixel camera, 2 mega-pixel camera and finally a 5 mega-pixel camera version, which was recently announced. The DM007W however seems to have only one variant, with a 2 mega-pixel camera.

It still comes with a 380mAh 7.4V battery, so there’s no change there. 6-8 minutes is what the manufacturer claims the DM007W can do on one full charge.

I’m hoping to get one of these for review, keep watching this space for more!
